Handwriting Centers and Lesson-Link Cards

Give students one clear letter to practice. Pencil Pete shows the movements; your students watch, replay, and try them on paper.

Set up a center in a few minutes

  1. Choose the letter. Match it to your current instruction.
  2. Preview the video. Check YouTube access and sound on an approved classroom computer, tablet, or display.
  3. Set out paper and pencils. Use your usual paper or a matching practice sheet.
  4. Give the task. Watch once, replay while writing, then show you their practice.

Printable lesson-link cards

Each card has a short link to the matching letter lesson. Open it on an approved classroom computer or tablet and bookmark the lesson before students begin. QR codes are an optional setup shortcut for the teacher.

Free cards link to the videos; they do not include the paid worksheet packs. Follow your school’s device and viewing rules.

Using a class link instead?

Open the printing or cursive alphabet below and copy an individual lesson’s address into your learning platform or family message. Each lesson also links to the other case and the next letter.

Keep the task short

Start with one letter, a few careful attempts, and a quick check-in. Replay the demonstration when a student needs another look. Move on when it fits your teaching, rather than racing through the alphabet.
